Age limit :

Candidates required age should be between 21 years to 32 years as on 01/01/2017 and candidates must be born between 02/01/1985 to 01/01/1996 (for Group A, C, D Posts) or Candidates Minimum age limit should be between 20 years & 21 years and candidates date of birth should be between 02/01/1985 to 01/01/1996 or 1997 (For Group B - West Bengal Police Service post). Upper age limit should have applicable for SC / ST candidate up to 5 years, OBC candidates up to 3 years, & PWD candidates upper age limit would be 45 years of age. Other candidates age limit is applicable as per Government Rule. 

Educational Qualification :

Candidates Educational Qualification should be minimum Graduation Degree from recognized University. Candidates must be ability to Speak, Write & Read in Bengali. 

Salary :

Candidates Pay Scale after joining this Post is -

Group A & B Posts - Rs.15600/- 42000 with GP of Rs.5400. Starting Salary is Rs.21000/.

Group C Posts - Rs.9000/ - 40500 with GP of Rs.4700. Starting Salary is Rs.14930/.

Group D Posts - Rs.7100/ - 37600 with GP of Rs.3900. Starting Salary is Rs.12270/.

Selection Process :

Candidates first called for Preliminary Examination, Preliminary Examination will be dated on - January, 2016, Selected candidates will be called for Main Examination, Then shortlisted candidates called for Interview Test, Final Selection will be strongly as on Merit based.

Scheme & Syllabus :

West Bengal Civil Service Examination Scheme & syllabus is given below. Preliminary examination should have consist only 1 paper on General Studies. Preliminary examination is based on General Studies, Examination have Objective type Question (200 marks), Each question carried 1 marks, Time allotted for examination is 2 hours 30 minutes. Preliminary examination is based on - 

1. English Composition - 25 marks.
2. General Science - 25 marks.
3. Current Events on National & International Importance - 25 marks.
4. History of India - 25 marks
5. Geography of India with special reference to West Bengal - 25 marks
6. Indian Polity and Economy - 25 marks.
7. Indian national Movement - 25 marks.
8. General Mental Ability - 25 marks.

Mains Examination & Personality Test total have 1800 Marks for Group A & B Posts. / Total 1350 Marks for Group C Posts / Total 1300 Marks for Group D Posts. Examination Fee :

Applied candidates required to pay application fee of Rs.200 with Service Charge through Online Payment Mode (Using Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking Facility) or Offline Payment Mode (through Bank Challan of UBI Bank). SC, ST Candidates & PWD Candidates of any State are exempted from paying Examination fee.
