NEST RESULT 2016 / NATIONAL ENTRANCE SCREENING TEST RANK MERIT LIST 2016. The National Entrance Screening Test NEST is a Compulsory test for admission to National Institute of Science Education & Research (NISER) Bhubanesawr and University of Mumbai- Department of Atomic Energy Centre of Excellence in Basic Science (UM-DAE CBS) Mumbai. Seat Reservation :

For the Integrated M.SC Programme 2016-21, the total numbers of seats at NISER and CBS are 132 and 47, Respectively . Indian Nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules of the Government of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows-

1. OBC category - 27% seats are reserved for OBC NCL.
2. SC & ST category - 15% seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% seats for are reserved for ST category .
3. 3% of seats are reserved for Persons with Disability.

Rules for Selections :

This selection lists rules employed for the preparation of Merit list in National Entrance Screening Test. In NEST 2016 examination there would be five sections with 50 point each. Section 1 (General Section) is compulsory. Candidates can attempt as many from the remaining subject sections. During preparation of merit list , score for the general section would be considers along with three best scores from the remaining subject section. In other word the worst score among section 2 through 5 would be eliminated from the merit list calculation. As merit list calculation the total marks for NEST 2016 became 200.

Ranks :

• For candidates who satisfy all clauses given in section above a merit list would be prepared in descending order of total scores.
• If total score of two or more candidates become eual, candidates with higher score in the general section will be get a better rank.
• If the degeneracy persists , the students would be given same provisional rank at the time of declaration of the result and the degeneracy would be broken by comparing class 12th marks and date of Birth that order, during Admission & Counselling.

Admission :

The institutes may restrict number of students invited for admission to some reasonable limit. Getting a merit rank by satisfy SMAS and MAS criteria does not automatically entitle a calendar to called for admission.
